First Step: You’re In It For Life

LifeSo you have your Real Estate license or a ten year veteran. What to do? Your first step should be to make a conscious decision that you are going to be on the Internet for life. There’s no “trying it out”. The Internet is not going away.

Take out a piece of paper and write the following:

The Internet will be part of my life for the rest of my life, and my plan is:

Under this write out any and all ideas you might already have. If you don’t have any ideas, that’s fine, keep on reading this blog and soon you’ll have too many.

The New Revolution

Gutenburg PressLike the Gutenburg Press, many people do not see the big picture of the Internet. The printing press became a disruptive technology, nothing remained the same. Almost exact book copies could be produced, and produced quickly.

The Gutenburg Press gave rise to the current intellectual and technological world by enabling more efficient exchange and distribution of information. The internet is leveling the playing field in a lot more fields.

The Biggest Lesson that can be learned from the Gutenburg Press is that it was here to stay. The Internet is also here to stay. It’s not a fad, and it will not go out of fashion in a year or two. It will be here for the rest of your life and in one way or another, for all of future generations.

Deciding not to have an active presence on the Internet is like denying the effect of the printing press. The world will never go back to writing books by hand and there will never be a time when there is no Internet (unless your provider has an outage).

The BIG question is: What is your plan for the Internet? For now and ten years from now?
